Working through a loved one's belongings can be difficult and time-consuming. We provide practical, compassionate, hands-on support while keeping you and your family in control of every decision.
We can also help to coordinate with third party services as needed.
Moving & Household Changes
When a household changes, the home often needs to change with it.
Whether you're moving, combining households, going through a separation or divorce, preparing for a new baby, empty nesting, making room for a family member, or dealing with years of accumulated belongings, we can help sort, reduce, organize, and prepare your home for what's next.
Simplifying & Downsizing
When there's simply too much to manage, we'll help you sort through belongings, work through decisions, reduce what you no longer need.

Sale Preparation & Assistance for Estate Sale
We can help sort and prepare items for an estate sale, including identifying and removing items that are not suitable for sale.
For smaller estates, we can also assist with organizing, setting up, and conducting the sale.
Once the sale is complete, we'll help determine the next steps for any remaining items.
Additional Support & Coordination
Some projects need more than sorting and organizing. When services outside our scope are needed, Sort & Reset can help identify the right providers and coordinate scheduling and logistics.
This may include auction houses, consignment services, specialty buyers, donation services, movers, deep cleaning, shredding services, closet build-outs, painting, and other services needed to complete the project.
If additional coordination becomes necessary along the way, we'll discuss what is needed and any applicable fees with you before moving forward.
The Sort & Reset Method
Every project is different. We work with you in the way that makes sense for your situation—side-by-side, talking through decisions together, or taking the lead once we understand what you want.
We don't come in with a predetermined system and expect you to fit into it. We don't force decisions. We don't take over. We listen to you, make the space functional, and keep the project moving.
Understand First
We start by understanding what's happening in your life and in your home, including how the space is being used, what's getting in the way, and what you want to accomplish.
Whether things have simply gotten out of hand or you are navigating a change in your life, we'll take the time to understand what you need before deciding together what comes next.
Sort & Decide
Together, we work through what's there and determine what happens next. You decide which items may be kept, relocated, donated, sold, given to family or others, discarded, set aside for a specific purpose, or handled by an outside provider.
Not every decision has to happen immediately. If you are not ready to make a decision, we can set it aside and revisit it later, rather than letting one item stop the entire project.
Reset
Once we clear the area, considering routines, habits, priorities, accessibility, and flow, we reset the space as agreed.
The goal isn't to impose an organizing system on you, it is to create a functional and intentional space that makes everyday life easier.
Support
We keep the finish line in sight.
Sorting is only useful if something happens with what you've sorted. We help bring the agreed upon project to a clear finish within the defined scope.
That may include preparing donations or items for disposal, getting belongings ready for a sale, coordinating an outside provider, or completing other agreed-upon next steps.

Meet Terri
After a successful 30+ year career as a home birth midwife and baby whisperer, a career that has taken me to the most amazing places, I have returned to my Charleston roots to continue to support families, just in a different way.
I’m excited to bring the services of Sort & Reset to Charleston. Whether it’s making more space for a new addition to your family or helping you downsize or just get organized, my method is geared to you and the end result.
When I am not working with clients, you will often find me spending time with my family, including my 93-year-old father and my 96-year-old aunt. Some of my favorite times are days driving around downtown Charleston with them, listening to their stories and memories, and stopping somewhere for lunch along the way. I also enjoy swimming in the ocean and listening to jazz!
